Founded in 1989 at the Chinese American International School, the Mandarin Institute (formerly CAIS Institute) is a nonprofit dedicated to growing and strengthening Chinese language and culture education in schools throughout the United States.
The Mandarin Institute works nationally with schools, community members and other entities to establish programs and promote the teaching and learning of Chinese. To elevate the number of and proficiency level of students studying Chinese language and culture, we provide national Chinese Education Conferences, platforms for sharing best practices and classroom teaching materials on TheMandarinCenter.org, hands-on professional development and innovative student programs.
